So why in the world does a Mormon Missionary have a blog? Or better yet, why do I have a Facebook? And even better (if you've noticed) why do a lot of Missionaries have Blogs and Facebook's!? First maybe it would be best to explain what our purpose is as missionaries. As a missionary, or representative, for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints we invite all to come unto Christ. We invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored Gospel through faith in Him. We want all to have faith in Jesus Christ and believe in Him because we know, I know, that so many blessings flow into my life for following Him. What is so amazing, or unique, about our message is that we know there is a prophet once again on the earth. That Christ has once again established His church on the earth; with His authority! It has blessed my life so much to be a part of it, and now I get to share it with others.

Recently I have had the opportunity to teach a lot about Sacrifice. What it is, why we need to do it. Obviously sacrifice is something that is never easy. When searching for some definitions of Sacrifice i came across this definition: "To sacrifice is to give up something we value for the sake of something of greater worth."(True to the Faith pg, 149). When thinking of sacrifice my mind of course turns towards the greatest of all sacrifices; our Savior Jesus Christ and the ultimate sacrifice of the Atonement. He sacrificed everything for all of us. I thought of our Heavenly Father, His sacrifice of sending His only begotten Son. John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" I Love this story which puts it into another perspective; a perspective of our Heavenly Father. I hope it helps you like it helped me. It's titled, The Bridge, author anonymous:

So I know that this blog post is a few days late coming…..but it is still a good one. It is in Genesis Chapter 19 that the story of Lot and his family and their plight from Sodom and Gomorrah is told. Now we might not be leaving behind a life equivalent to theirs; nor to Sodom and Gomorrah’s, but we can still decide to live this year an even better year then the last. We can decide now, right this instance, to not look backwards but to look forward. Be not like Lot’s wife, but be believing, look forward. Look to all the great things that wait in this next amazing year!

How would Jesus Christ himself have us celebrate His Birthday? One thing I’m sure he would have us do is do something that he would do. Help out a neighbor or friend, Give a gift you have been neglecting to give, Tell someone hello. Tell someone about Jesus Christ. When we lose track of what Christmas is really about we lose track of Christ. There is nothing wrong with Santa Clause, Christmas lights, or wrapping paper. But when we put them ahead of our savior we fail to remember His birth and life. When we get into the Spirit of Christ, we get into the real spirit of Christmas. Merry Christmas Everyone.

I love this Video. When I think about what I could give to Christ during this Season what gift thing then service to others. Jesus Christ has said that when we are in the service of our fellow beings we are only in the service of our God(Mosiah 2:17, Book of Mormon). When we think of how much He has given us, let us give something back in return. What could you give?
